TORONTO -- Matt Cooke will be forced to explain his actions in person Monday at 1:30 p.m. ET as the Pittsburgh Penguins forward has an face-to-face hearing with NHL disciplinarian Colin Campbell in Toronto.
The hearing was called in response to an elbow to the head delivered by Cooke to New York Rangers defenceman Ryan McDonagh in Sunday's 5-2 win for New York. Cooke was given a major penalty for elbowing which resulted in an immediate game misconduct and ejection.
