THE CANADIAN PRESS

TORONTO -- The Toronto Maple Leafs have had a great start to the 2011-12 campaign, but the Boston Bruins seem to have their number.

Brophy on Leafs: Crabb’s of steel

Try as he might, Matt Frattin just couldn’t find a way to buy a goal in his first 11 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs this season.

With the exception, of course, of his shootout winner Oct. 19 against the Winnipeg Jets. Shootout goals do not count toward a player’s goal total, so technically Frattin is still looking for his first NHL goal.

Joey Crabb, on the other hand, is scoring at a Crosby-like pace. Crabb, who was summoned from the Toronto Marlies when Frattin was

Brunt on Wheldon: The razor's edge

Apple takes ambitious step for tech-kind with Siri

Apple Inc. AAPL-Q took one of the most ambitious products it has ever created and hid it inside an iPhone.
At one point on Friday, a Globe and Mail editor – a former technology section editor, at that – passed by my desk, where one of Apple’s shiny new iPhone 4S units sat next to a now-dated iPhone 4. The editor picked both phones up and looked them over, convinced he could tell one from the other just by studying the outsides – he couldn’t.

Spector on NHL: Veterans cast aside

There was a time that NHL teams got better by getting older. Those days are ancient history.

“He can play in the National Hockey League.”

The speaker was Darcy Regier, that free-spending, bottomless money pit general manager of the Buffalo Sabres. The ‘speakee’ was Ales Kotalik, a player whom — if you watched the Calgary Flames at all over the past couple of seasons — you could not believe Flames GM Jay Feaster had found a way to unload on another NHL team.

Facebook's creepy changes: Here's someone who loves them

I want to introduce you to the Cult of the Dependent.
Yes, that might be a fine book title, should any of the world's finest literary agents be reading this. However, I hadn't--until last week--had a personal encounter with one of the cult's members.
The cult offers its members a very particular dependence, couched in a sense of enormous freedom. It is an enormous freedom from news, something that Facebook's charmingly skin-crawling changes announced this week will assist in fostering.

NEW YORK (AP) — Tissues were on hand but there were few tears among two dozen soap opera fans gathered to watch “All My Children” sign off from ABC on Friday after more than 40 years.

That’s because the screen faded to black with a gunshot and a cliffhanger — an indication that the story may not be dead, even if the television series is. ABC has licensed the story to a production company that is hoping to keep the “All My Children” going online after the

When it comes to being social, Google CEO Larry Page is apparently very particular.
Who, therefore, could be surprised that social networking isn't quite as vital to his being as, say, burying the whole of Facebook in a very large vat of custard?

So, yelps and alerts have
