The state of Louisiana faces serious asbestos issues due to the damage done during Hurricane Katrina. After the storm hit Louisiana in 2005, experts warned that the government had been less than truthful with the public about the health risks involved with demolishing destroyed homes and the hazards from floodwaters dumping toxins on public areas such as schoolyards and parks.
